During one of our trainings, a participant came up to us and said that when they were in the grocery store they took note of products that jumped out to them and realized their conservation event planning process should have the same type of marketing flair. To “sell” your audience on a project you must first understand what is important to them and how you can use that in your outreach planning process.

Think of yourself as a product marketing manager. What does your ideal customer look like? What issue are they struggling with? What barriers do they face and how can you use framing or problem solving to assist with those barriers? Utilize our User Persona worksheet to create an audience profile for an upcoming event. This worksheet can help you focus on your target audience while practicing how to reach new audiences.
